EMS controller

Operational controls for the physical EMS controller on site: the Controller tab with advanced logging, and the Network configuration tab.

Under Configuration → EMS controller you find the controls of the physical EMS controller on site. The page has two tabs: Controller (the controls on this page) and Network configuration (the network configuration and the network check).

Advanced logging

Advanced logging stores extra technical data on the controller, for diagnosis. Voltmasters Support uses that data when looking for a cause. There is no download button for end users; if you need an export, ask Voltmasters Support for it.

The Pro dashboards need advanced logging. While it is off, the controller logs nothing and the Pro dashboards stay empty. They fill from the moment you switch it on; see Pro dashboard.

Network

The network check tells you whether the controller can reach the Voltmasters services it needs. It says nothing about the connections to the connected devices. See Network check.

Troubleshooting: the controller is often offline

If the controller is regularly offline in the platform, the cause is usually in your own network. The incident The controller is offline opens after 30 minutes and is reported after one hour (see Incident management).

  1. Restart the router: switch it off, wait a moment and switch it on again.
  2. Check the cables: are the network cables firmly connected to the router and to the controller?
  3. Check whether the neighbours have the same problem at the same times. If so, the issue is more likely with your internet provider than with your own network.

If none of this helps, have the cables and routers checked by a network technician. For the network requirements, including ports, domains and DNS, see Internet and network.
