One EMS for every professional installation

Voltmasters EMS connects batteries, solar panels, charging infrastructure and steerable consumers in one smart platform. The algorithm plans ahead every 15 minutes based on market prices, PV forecast and consumption, fully automatic.

Control strategies

Cost optimisation

The primary algorithm minimises energy costs using dynamic prices: charge when it's cheap, discharge when it's expensive. It plans per quarter-hour using day-ahead market prices (EPEX), weather-based PV forecasting and the consumption profile, and only cycles when the price spread justifies the round-trip losses (typically ± €20/MWh, configurable per project).

Self-supply

Maximises self-consumption of solar power. Runs fully local and reactive: PV surplus is stored and used later, minimising grid exchange. Ideal for customers on a classic contract or with a wide injection-consumption spread.

Imbalance trading

External trading partners send dispatch signals that steer the battery on the imbalance market. Those signals take priority over the standard algorithms but always stay within project limits and safety margins. More about energy trading →

A self-learning brain that decides every second

The algorithm processes millions of data points per hour and determines the best strategy for charging, discharging, injection and consumption in real time. It learns from the installation, the market and the grid, automatically avoiding penalties, congestion and negative prices.

  • AI forecasts 24 hours ahead: expected consumption, production and energy flows based on historical data, market prices, weather and solar irradiance. On sudden changes the system recalculates immediately.
  • A decision every second for every device, taking each device's response speed into account. Reaction time of 1 to 3 seconds.
  • Fully autonomous, 24/7: arbitrage, peak shaving and grid services without any manual input or configuration.

Six revenue streams

One coordinated strategy instead of a single revenue stream, without extra complexity for the installer or end customer.

All features

BESS optimisation

Automatic arbitrage on dynamic prices. The battery schedule sets the optimal charge and discharge moments per quarter-hour and is updated continuously.

Peak shaving & capacity tariff

Monitors the quarter-hour power and adjusts battery and loads before the peak drives up the capacity tariff.

PV curtailment

Automatically curtails inverters at negative injection prices. No more paying to produce on sunny Sundays.

Forecasting

Weather-based PV forecasting and consumption prediction feed the optimisation. Measured production versus forecast is visible in the PV dashboard.

Consumption planning

Enter planned large loads in advance; the system pre-charges the battery for known peaks.

Load management

Automatically sheds low-priority consumers when thresholds are exceeded, with configurable hysteresis for stable behaviour.

Manual overrides

Temporarily set the battery power yourself or disable algorithmic control for a chosen time window.

Grid protection

Import and export limits from the grid contract are strictly enforced, with a safety margin below the contractual limits.

Multi-site & roles

All your projects in one portal. Role-based access: you configure as the installer, your customer watches along with read access.

Six specialised dashboards

Every project gets a full set of dashboards, from the real-time energy flow diagram to deep technical analysis.

  • EMS dashboard: real-time energy flows, control mode, energy prices, self-sufficiency, weather forecast and the latest control decisions.
  • Battery (ESS): SOC, daily cycles, available energy, temperature, voltage and current per module.
  • PV: production versus forecast, market prices and curtailment actions.
  • Consumption: usage patterns, self-consumption and trends.
  • Energy meters: import/export per meter and net grid exchange.
  • Pro dashboard (Grafana): second-level signal insight, the algorithm's planning charts and troubleshooting for engineers and installers.
