JinkoSolar

Supported devices: JinkoSolar SunGiga G1 215 kWh (JKS-215KLAA-100PLAA) battery cabinets behind the system SCU, over Modbus TCP on port 2404.

Our EMS monitors and controls the JinkoSolar SunGiga G1 215 kWh all-in-one battery cabinets over Modbus TCP. All cabinets of a system sit behind one system control unit (SCU). In the platform every cabinet is a battery inverter of its own, with its own battery, so the EMS balances the cabinets on their own state of charge.

The SunGiga G1 is available from EMS controller version 0.0.337.

Supported devices

Model Power and capacity Role
SunGiga G1 215kWh (JKS-215KLAA-100PLAA) 100 kW / 215 kWh per cabinet All-in-one battery cabinet, behind the SCU of the system

How the integration works

  • Control per cabinet: each cabinet gets its own active and reactive power setpoint. While the EMS steers a cabinet, it takes control over from the local control of the system, and hands it back when it stops.
  • Battery values: the state of charge, the chargeable and dischargeable energy, the voltage, the current and the allowed charge and discharge power come from the battery cluster of each cabinet.
  • Start: a stopped cabinet without a fault is started by the EMS. Faults are never reset automatically.
  • Incidents: every battery alarm appears on the battery of the cabinet, every converter fault on its battery inverter. A Heat detector alarm in the battery cabinet also sends an emergency notification. A converter that does not run the power mode the EMS set raises the incident Converter not in the operation mode the EMS set, setpoint ignored.

The SCU has no fallback of its own. When the connection with the EMS drops, a cabinet keeps its last setpoint until the EMS takes over again.

Setup

  1. Network

Connect the SCU to the same network as the Voltmasters Controller, give it a fixed IP address and check that the controller can reach it on port 2404.

  2. Add the first cabinet

Add a device of type Battery system (PCS), with brand JinkoSolar and model SunGiga G1 215kWh (JKS-215KLAA-100PLAA). Fill in the IP address of the SCU and check the prefilled port 2404 and Slave ID 1. The slave ID is the number of the cabinet (1, 2, 3 and so on), not a Modbus unit ID. The rated power is prefilled with 100 kW.

  3. Add the other cabinets through discovery

From cabinet 1, device discovery proposes every other cabinet of the system as its own battery inverter with its own battery, including the capacity of that battery. Keep them selected and save: the whole system is then added in one go.

  4. Verify

Check on the device page of every cabinet that the state of charge and the power come in, and that the cabinet follows a setpoint.
