Schneider EVlink Pro AC under smart control

The Schneider Electric EVlink Pro AC is an AC charging station for commercial sites. Connected to Voltmasters EMS it no longer charges on its own: the charging power follows what is available at the grid connection, and the EMS distributes that together with the battery and the PV.

Supported devices

  • EVlink Pro AC

The Schneider EVlink Pro AC, with load balancing per connector.

What the EMS gets out of your Schneider EVlink installation

  • Load balancing within the limit of the grid connection
  • Charge at the cheapest moments, including negative prices
  • Priorities per charge point, the fleet comes first
  • Interplay with battery and PV for extra charging power
  • Monitoring of every charging session

Why installers combine Schneider and Voltmasters

EV chargers are the largest variable load on a commercial site. The EMS adjusts the charging power per connector as soon as a meter approaches its limit, so your peak stays under control without reinforcing the grid connection. If the internet connection drops, the Voltmaster Controller keeps controlling locally.

The technical bit, in short

  • Connection over Modbus TCP, port 502, unit id 1
  • Wired network with a fixed IP address on the same subnet as the controller
  • Restart the charger after changing the network or Modbus settings
  • A faulty charging connector is reported as an incident

How your Schneider EVlink connects to the EMS

Voltmaster Controller in the cabinet

The industrial DIN-rail controller sits next to the installation and runs the optimisation locally, even without internet.

Connect over the local network

You connect the device following the step-by-step guide in our documentation. We assist with commissioning on your first project.

Configure and go live

The installation appears in the platform: dashboards, control and monitoring are active right away.

Questions about the Schneider EVlink integration

Which Schneider charger does Voltmasters support?

The EVlink Pro AC, over Modbus TCP. The charging power is controlled per connector and the charging sessions are tracked in the EMS.

Does the EMS prevent overloading the grid connection?

Yes. The EMS does load balancing across the chargers, the battery and the PV. When a meter approaches its limit, charging is curtailed first, before any loads are shed.

Does the system keep working when the internet drops?

Yes. The Voltmaster Controller runs the optimisation locally in the cabinet. If the connection drops, control, peak shaving and the safety limits simply stay active.

How do I connect a Schneider EVlink Pro AC to the EMS?

The Voltmaster Controller connects to the device over the local network. The step-by-step instructions are in our documentation, and as a certified partner we guide your first commissioning from start to finish.
