EV chargers integration
Alpitronic HYC, from 50 kW to 1 MW under control
The Alpitronic HYC series is the reference for DC fast charging, from 50 kW to 1 MW. Voltmasters EMS controls the chargers over Modbus and keeps the power within the limits of the grid connection, charging at the cheapest moments.

- HYC 300
- HYC 400
- HYC 1000
The full HYC series: HYC 50, 150, 200, 300, 400 and the HYC 1000 up to 1 MW.
What the EMS gets out of your Alpitronic installation
- Load balancing within the limit of the grid connection
- Charge at the cheapest moments, including negative prices
- Priorities per charge point, the fleet comes first
- Interplay with battery and PV for extra charging power
- Monitoring of every charging session
Why installers combine Alpitronic and Voltmasters
DC fast chargers draw high peaks that quickly overload a grid connection. The EMS does load balancing across the chargers, the battery and the PV, and plans charging at the cheapest moments, including negative prices. The main connection stays within its limit without reinforcement.
The technical bit, in short
- Connection over Modbus
- Access to the charger's web interface with a fixed IP address
- Activate Modbus and perform a soft reset with no vehicle connected
How it works
How your Alpitronic connects to the EMS
Voltmaster Controller in the cabinet
The industrial DIN-rail controller sits next to the installation and runs the optimisation locally, even without internet.
Connect over the local network
You connect the device following the step-by-step guide in our documentation. We assist with commissioning on your first project.
Configure and go live
The installation appears in the platform: dashboards, control and monitoring are active right away.
In the field
Fast charging above the grid limit
At Cras in Ostend, 300 kW of fast charging runs on a 250 kW grid connection. A 250 kW / 500 kWh battery, steered by the EMS, covers the shortfall and delivers grid balancing on top.

Questions about the Alpitronic integration
Which Alpitronic chargers does Voltmasters support?
The full HYC series: HYC 50, HYC 150, HYC 200, HYC 300, HYC 400 and the HYC 1000 (DC up to 1 MW).
How does the EMS connect to an Alpitronic charger?
Over Modbus. You give the charger a fixed IP address, activate Modbus in the web interface and perform a soft reset with no vehicle connected. The Voltmaster Controller then controls the charger.
Does the EMS prevent overload from the fast chargers?
Yes. The EMS does load balancing across the chargers, the battery and the PV and keeps the total power within the limit of the grid connection, without reinforcement.
Does the system keep working when the internet drops?
Yes. The Voltmaster Controller runs the optimisation locally in the cabinet. If the connection drops, control, peak shaving and the safety limits simply stay active.
