Trevion and the Voltmasters EMS
Trevion is a Flemish green energy supplier and producer that monetises batteries and solar installations on the imbalance market. The Voltmasters EMS executes Trevion's steering signals locally, within the limits of every installation.
Who is Trevion?
Trevion, based in Gentbrugge, supplies 100% green electricity generated locally in Flanders, including from its own wind, solar and biogas installations. Alongside supply and production, Trevion offers energy trading and optimisation for businesses, with transparent pricing and strong local roots.
Our partnership
Trevion sends setpoints from its trading desk to the Voltmasters EMS. The controller on site translates them into charge and discharge commands for the battery and curtailment for the PV inverters, while continuously guarding the grid connection and the project's safety limits. The installation participates fully automatically in the imbalance market, with no action needed from the owner or installer.
Technical, in short
- Secure MQTT connection with TLS to Trevion's broker (mqtt.energy.trevi-env.com)
- Authentication with an X.509 client certificate and matching private key
- Trevion provides the credentials: site ID, client certificate and private key
- Configuration happens in the project's energy trading settings in the platform

Questions about the Trevion connection
What can Trevion steer through the Voltmasters EMS?
Batteries and PV inverters. Trevion trades the flexibility on the imbalance market: the battery follows the dispatch signals and the inverters curtail when the market calls for it.
What do I need to connect a project to Trevion?
A contract with Trevion and the credentials they provide: the site ID, a client certificate and the matching private key. Enter them in the project's energy trading settings.
Does the installation stay safe while Trevion is steering?
Yes. The controller always enforces the project limits: the maximum power of the grid connection, the limits of the grid contract and the safety margins of every device.
