E.DIS Netz: telecontrol connection for PV and battery storage
E.DIS Netz supplies Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, a region with high wind feed-in and frequent grid-security management. That is exactly where fast, reliable setpoint execution counts. From 100 to 500 kW we connect over the E.ON Modbus TCP profile.
E.DIS Netz at a glance
E.DIS Netz operates the distribution grid in Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, headquartered in Fürstenwalde/Spree. The grid area is among the most wind-rich regions in Germany. Accordingly, grid-security management intervenes often to absorb feed-in peaks.
For generation and storage plants this means: the plant must execute setpoints quickly and reliably and carry out the Sofort-AUS cleanly. E.DIS follows the closely related E.ON requirements for the telecontrol connection to the medium-voltage grid.

Your connection at E.DIS Netz
For plants from 100 to 500 kW we connect E.DIS Netz over the common E.ON Modbus TCP profile. From around 100 kW, E.DIS requires a telecontrol connection and participation in Redispatch 2.0.
E.ON Modbus TCP profile
Connection over the Gateway Light with the E.ON Modbus TCP profile, which is identical across the E.ON grid. The EMS provides the Modbus TCP server, receives the grid-security setpoint in steps and reports voltage, active and reactive power back.
- Modbus TCP, E.ON profile (Gateway Light)
- Setpoint in steps, measurement feedback
- The same profile at all five E.ON grid operators
Fast curtailment in a wind-rich grid: the EMS executes the setpoints with the required ramp rates per VDE-AR-N 4110 and holds the last valid setpoint on loss of connection. As soon as the restriction is lifted, it keeps optimising on the market.
Why Voltmasters
Built for frequent grid-security management
In the wind-rich E.DIS grid, grid security intervenes often. Our control logic executes setpoints cleanly and gradient-compliant, without disrupting plant operation. The telecontrol function is integrated into the Voltmaster Controller; we support commissioning with E.DIS Netz.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about E.DIS Netz
Which telecontrol protocol does E.DIS Netz use?
From 100 to 500 kW the connection is over the E.ON Modbus TCP profile at the Gateway Light, per the E.DIS grid guideline for the telecontrol connection to the medium-voltage grid.
Why is setpoint execution especially important in the E.DIS grid?
Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are very wind-rich, so grid-security management intervenes often. The EMS must execute setpoints quickly and gradient-compliant per VDE-AR-N 4110 and carry out the Sofort-AUS reliably.
Does Voltmasters support the E.DIS grid today?
In the 100 to 500 kW range, yes, over the common E.ON Modbus TCP profile. It builds on our stack proven at Westnetz and in Belgium.
From what power level is the telecontrol connection mandatory?
From around 100 kW of total power at the grid connection point, E.DIS requires a telecontrol connection and participation in Redispatch 2.0. The exact thresholds are set by E.DIS in the grid guideline and the TAB Mittelspannung.
