Solar irradiance meters integration
Soluzione Solare as the reference for your PV production
Soluzione Solare makes reference cells and irradiance sensors for PV monitoring. Voltmasters EMS reads the meter over Modbus TCP and therefore knows how much power your installation should be producing right now.
Supported devices
- LM2-420 PRO
- SM1-485 PRO
- SM2-485 PRO LED
- TM3
- TM PRO
The LM2-420 PRO, SM1-485 PRO, SM2-485 PRO LED, TM3 and TM PRO. You add an irradiance meter as its own device and then link it to a PV inverter through the Solar Irradiance Meter parameter in the device settings.
What the EMS gets out of your Soluzione Solare installation
- Real-time measurement of irradiance in W/m² in the plane of the panels
- Estimate the achievable PV power from the current sunlight
- Spot curtailment and underperformance by comparing measurement against production
- An irradiance-to-power curve per inverter over a rolling 30-day window
- Linked to the PV inverter through a single parameter in the device settings
Why installers add an irradiance meter
Without a reference measurement you cannot tell whether a lower yield comes from the weather or from the installation. The EMS learns an irradiance-to-power curve per inverter over a rolling 30-day window, with curtailment periods filtered out. When the real production falls short of what the irradiance predicts, you see it immediately: a string that has dropped out, soiled panels or curtailment that should not be active.
How it works
How your Soluzione Solare connects to the EMS
Voltmaster Controller in the cabinet
The industrial DIN-rail controller sits next to the installation and runs the optimisation locally, even without internet.
Connect over the local network
You connect the device following the step-by-step guide in our documentation. We assist with commissioning on your first project.
Configure and go live
The installation appears in the platform: dashboards, control and monitoring are active right away.

Questions about the Soluzione Solare integration
Which Soluzione Solare devices does Voltmasters support?
The LM2-420 PRO, SM1-485 PRO, SM2-485 PRO LED, TM3 and TM PRO, all over Modbus TCP.
What does the EMS do with the measured irradiance?
It estimates the achievable PV power from the current sunlight and compares that against the real production, which is how it detects curtailment and underperformance. The meter is read only, it is not controlled.
Does this work together with hardware from another brand?
Yes, the EMS is brand-independent. A battery, PV inverter, EV chargers and meters from different manufacturers are controlled together as one optimised system.
How do I connect a Soluzione Solare irradiance meter to the EMS?
The Voltmaster Controller connects to the device over the local network. The step-by-step instructions are in our documentation, and as a certified partner we guide your first commissioning from start to finish.
