Solar irradiance meters integration
IMT Si-RS485TC as the reference for your PV production
IMT Technology makes silicon sensors for PV monitoring. The Si-RS485TC measures irradiance together with the cell temperature and an external temperature. Voltmasters EMS reads it over Modbus TCP.
Supported devices
- Si-RS485TC
The Si-RS485TC, with integrated cell temperature and an external temperature measurement. You add the meter as its own device and then link it to a PV inverter through the Solar Irradiance Meter parameter in the device settings.
What the EMS gets out of your IMT Technology installation
- Real-time measurement of irradiance in W/m² in the plane of the panels
- Estimate the achievable PV power from the current sunlight
- Spot curtailment and underperformance by comparing measurement against production
- An irradiance-to-power curve per inverter over a rolling 30-day window
- Linked to the PV inverter through a single parameter in the device settings
Why installers add an irradiance meter
A silicon sensor measures light the way a PV cell sees it, so the reference stays close to what your panels actually do. The EMS learns an irradiance-to-power curve per inverter over a rolling 30-day window and checks the live production against it. When the yield falls short of what the irradiance predicts, you know the weather is not the cause.
How it works
How your IMT Technology connects to the EMS
Voltmaster Controller in the cabinet
The industrial DIN-rail controller sits next to the installation and runs the optimisation locally, even without internet.
Connect over the local network
You connect the device following the step-by-step guide in our documentation. We assist with commissioning on your first project.
Configure and go live
The installation appears in the platform: dashboards, control and monitoring are active right away.

Questions about the IMT Technology integration
Which IMT device does Voltmasters support?
The Si-RS485TC silicon sensor, with integrated cell temperature and external temperature measurement, over Modbus TCP.
What does the EMS do with the measured irradiance?
It estimates the achievable PV power from the current sunlight and compares that against the real production, which is how it detects curtailment and underperformance. The meter is read only, it is not controlled.
Does this work together with hardware from another brand?
Yes, the EMS is brand-independent. A battery, PV inverter, EV chargers and meters from different manufacturers are controlled together as one optimised system.
How do I connect a IMT Si-RS485TC to the EMS?
The Voltmaster Controller connects to the device over the local network. The step-by-step instructions are in our documentation, and as a certified partner we guide your first commissioning from start to finish.
