Voltmasters announces an important strategic step in its continued growth. Software entrepreneur Bert Clybouw, founder of software agency Libaro, joins as a partner and takes on the role of CTO. At the same time, the company makes a clear choice for the future: Voltmasters now focuses entirely on the development and roll-out of an advanced Energy Management System. With this shift, Voltmasters aims to strengthen its position as a specialised technology partner for smart, scalable and market-driven energy control.

About Bert Clybouw

Bert Clybouw has been active as an entrepreneur and software architect for more than 11 years. As founder of Libaro, he built a software agency with a strong focus on scalable platforms, IoT and complex integrations. In recent years he specialised further in energy management, developing home automation, smart-building platforms and charging-station software. At Voltmasters he takes on the role of CTO and is responsible for the further technological development of the EMS platform, with particular attention to reliability, transparency and performance.

From hardware to intelligent control

Voltmasters started with battery energy storage systems (BESS): robust, safe solutions for companies that want to store their energy and become more independent. But the future lies in the software that controls everything. Our EMS optimises the interplay between solar panels, batteries, charging stations and machines. It responds to price changes in milliseconds, intelligently switches on loads during surpluses and protects installations against peaks. It also controls the various devices on the imbalance market, with energy suppliers as partners.

With Bert on board, this system gets a boost. Think of more accurate forecasts, better integration with existing infrastructure and clear visualisations of energy flows. The goal: not only to lower costs, but to help companies make well-considered choices in a complex energy world.

Why an EMS is becoming ever more important

An EMS helps companies structurally lower their energy bill in an increasingly complex energy market. By responding intelligently to volatile quarter-hour prices, the system avoids consumption at expensive moments and makes the most of cheaper periods. At the same time, in-house energy production is optimally matched to consumption, so less energy is drawn from the grid. In a context of growing grid congestion, an EMS also ensures that peaks are shaved and connection limits are respected, without compromising business continuity. The result is a lower energy cost, more control and a future-proof energy household.

Artificial intelligence as the next growth step

Voltmasters will deploy more artificial intelligence as a predictive layer within the EMS platform, with a clear focus on recognising usage patterns and making reliable forecasts. By analysing historical data in combination with real-time measurements and external signals such as energy prices and grid conditions, the system can better anticipate consumption, production and flexibility. The AI functionality is built in a targeted and transparent way, so that decisions remain explainable for installers and end customers. Bert Clybouw will bring his expertise in data analysis and software architecture to integrate these predictive models.
