# EME eCON+ panel

> Interfacing Fluvius telecontrole through an EME eCON+ panel over Modbus TCP.

Source: https://voltmasters.io/en/docs/dso-rtu/grid-operators/fluvius/eme-econ-plus/

The **EME eCON+** is a telecontrole panel that relays the grid operator's Fluvius telecontrole signal to the controller over **Modbus TCP**, as an alternative to a direct Netflex link. The grid operator is still [Fluvius](https://voltmasters.io/en/docs/dso-rtu/grid-operators/fluvius/); only the way its signal reaches the EMS differs.

To use it, set the telecontrole provider to **EME eCON+** under **Configuration → Grid & market → DSO RTU settings**.

> **Note**
>
> EME eCON+ requires a recent controller version. If the option does not appear in the dropdown, update the controller first.

### Connection settings

Unlike the IO-based operators, the eCON+ carries only a Modbus connection, so there are no IO-port or switch-position assignments to configure. You provide:

| Setting | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **IP address** | The address of the eCON+ panel on the local network (required). |
| **Port** | The Modbus TCP port. Leave empty to let the controller use its default. |
| **Slave ID** | The Modbus unit ID. Leave empty to let the controller use its default. |
| **Mode** | The Fluvius telecontrol version the panel exposes: **TC4** or **TC5**. This must match how the panel is configured; the controller reads a different set of values per mode. |

### TC4 vs TC5

The eCON+ is a bidirectional converter: it translates the grid operator's Fluvius telecontrol signal into values the EMS reads over Modbus, and writes the installation's realised production back to the panel. How much it conveys depends on the mode:

- **TC4**: the basic set, a single **active-power** limit (as a percentage of the asset's maximum production) and a single **reactive-power** target.
- **TC5**: the full set, **emergency stop** for production and for consumption, separate **maximum grid injection and consumption** limits, a **reactive-power band**, per-asset production/consumption caps, and the control reasons behind them.

> **Note**
>
> If the mode configured in the platform does not match the mode the eCON+ panel reports, an incident is raised. Set the mode to match the panel.

Once connected, the grid states received through the eCON+ drive the same curtailment of PV, batteries, EV charging and loads as any other telecontrole provider.

See [RTU connection](https://voltmasters.io/en/docs/dso-rtu/rtu-connection/) for the on-site connection and network requirements.
